I'm always expecting to discover something interesting
around the next corner.
It may be a perfect cafe, set in a courtyard where I can
smell the fragrance of magnolias with a tinkle of jazz in
the background.
Or a view of a magical city in Spain, spotted through
stone arches amid the glow of sunset.
My adventures in the Canadian Arctic include a dip in the
freezing Arctic Ocean while driving a three-wheeler for the first time.
Travel opens a secret door to a world where I can observe,
connect and sometimes become part of the scenery.
When I'm at home, I'm drawn to a very different scenario.
I grew up in Cincinnatus Town, Karachi on a small street.
I'd often pass Ruby Villa, my mother’s old home nearby,
but we were never invited to step in.
I'd like to take the reader on a journey up the stairs,
along the wide verandah and into the house to view life
behind closed doors.
I'll meander along roads in my old neighbourhoods, where
the faces and images of the past are still very much alive.
This is my journey and I hope it can be yours too.
